Department of Anthropology – Limited Term Appointment

The Department of Anthropology at St. Francis Xavier University invites applications for a nine-month Limited Term Appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor for the 2023-24 academic year. The contract start date is September 1, 2023, and the end date is May 31, 2024. The course load is 18 credits (6 courses/year). Preference will be given to candidates who can teach the following courses:

ANTH 112 Introduction to Socio-Cultural Anthropology

ANTH 233 Ethnographic Studies

ANTH 320 Anthropology of Development

ANTH 326 Kinship

Additional courses at the second, third, and/or fourth year, including ANTH 332 Mi’kmaq Studies will be determined in consultation with the Department Chair.
