Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences Teaching Term Appointment: 9-Month Position

The Department of Classics at Memorial University is hiring a 9-month, teaching-term appointment for the Fall 2025 and Winter 2026 semesters. The successful candidate will have expertise in ancient Greek history and Greek culture more generally. Teaching responsibilities will consist of six classes over the two terms, including courses on Greek history, Classics and popular culture, and introductory ancient Greek.
Applicants should highlight any teaching and research expertise that aligns with these teaching areas, or other relevant educational and professional experiences that make them well-suited to teaching these types of courses.
In most cases, the successful candidate will have a completed PhD in Classics or status as a Doctoral Candidate (i.e., “ABD”).
