Interdepartmental Program in Ancient Mediterranean Art and Archaeology (IPAMAA) at the University of Michigan

Application Information Session

Dear Prospective Art and Archaeology Students,

Please join us for an online information session about the Interdepartmental Program in Ancient Mediterranean Art & Archaeology (IPAMAA) at the University of Michigan. This virtual event is for students who are considering applying to PhD programs in Classics, History of Art, or other departments with the aim of studying the art and/or archaeology of the ancient Mediterranean world.

Whether you’re working on your application now or thinking about it for the future, we’d like to meet you, tell you about our program, share information about our application process, and answer questions that you may have.

We encourage advanced undergraduates and students working on a master’s degree who are interested in the visual and material culture of the ancient Mediterranean to join us Thursday November 14 from 3-4pm eastern time.

Please register for the session here: https://forms.gle/UEuxF5KPjaR1ybNP7.

Among the topics we’ll discuss are:
Introduction to our graduate program
How do you know when you’re ready to apply to graduate school?
How do you prepare for a PhD in Mediterranean art and archaeology?
Tips for writing an application–from personal statement to letters of recommendation

Please email ipamaa.office@umich.edu if you have any questions.

Thank you,
Natalie Abell
Director, U-M Interdepartmental Program in Ancient Mediterranean Art and Archaeology
