The Department of Classics & Archaeology at Queen’s University invites applications for a two-year Postdoctoral Fellowship with a specialization in Latin Language and Literature, beginning July 1, 2023. The successful applicant will complement the existing research and teaching strengths of the department and will be a specialist of classical Latin language and literature and/or its reception. The Postdoctoral Fellow will be an active participant in all departmental activities. In addition to their own research they will be responsible for teaching two twelve-week courses in each year of the Fellowship. In the first year, the courses will be CLST 312, Greek and Roman Drama (in the fall term, in translation, expected enrollment of 50 students), and LATN 322/422/812, Latin Poetry (in the winter term, expected enrollment of 20 students; this is a combined upper-year and graduate Latin language course). The Fellow will receive a salary of CAD$63,000 per year.

Eligibility: preference will be given to citizens and permanent residents. Candidates must have been awarded a doctorate from a recognized university or expect to have completed all degree requirements by 1 August 2023.
