RELIGION
UNIVERSITY OF TORONTO SCARBOROUGH

Applications are invited for a one year Contractually Limited Term Appointment in Religion at the rank of Assistant Professor, beginning July 1, 2009 and ending June 30, 2010.

Qualifications: Ph.D. completed or near completion in an area relevant to the study of religion. The department is particularly interested in candidates who are qualified to teach courses in world religions, the method and theory of the study of religion, religion and mythology of the ancient Mediterranean world, and the history, beliefs, practices and writings of Judaism, Christianity, and Islam. Evidence of research and teaching effectiveness, as well as an ability and willingness to teach a diverse group of courses, is required. The successful candidate will teach 5 half courses and will share responsibility for teaching surveys in large lectures and more specialized courses in smaller seminars. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
