RICHARDSON (née Burnand), Eloise Lynn

Eloise Lynn (Lisa) Richardson loving wife of Dr. John Michael (Mike) Richardson of Thunder Bay, ON passed away on September 30, 2007 at the Hamilton General Hospital. Lisa will be lovingly remembered by her parents, Jean and Bernard Burnand and her three siblings Peter (Dianne), Drew (Karen) and Heather (Steve) Walton. She also leaves behind her three nieces Amy (Paul), Sarah (Mac), and Rebecca as well as her two nephews Sean (Jenn) and Kyle (Jocelyn). She is also survived by her mother-in-law, Elizabeth Richardson and her brother-in-law, Andrew. Lisa was very close to her beloved aunt, Jean Alexander and leaves behind many other loving aunts, uncles and cousins. Lisa was predeceased by her grandparents Naomi and Hugh Young, and Florence and Septimus Burnand, Uncle Leonard Burnand, and her father-in-law Nelson Richardson. Lisa was born in Calgary, AB on August 22, 1952. She attended Tweedsmuir Girls School, and Viscount Bennett. She received her BA Honours in Classics from University of Calgary, and her MA in Classics from McMaster University. Since 1978 Lisa and Mike lived in Thunder Bay, ON where Lisa taught English and Classics at Lakehead University. Lisa‘s passions included traveling to Greece, Italy, Florida and Britain. Lisa was a woman of devotion, grace, and compassion and will be missed forever. Lisa‘s family wishes to express their sincere and heartfelt thanks to the staff at the Hamilton General Hospital for the exceptional round the clock care and compassion she received while she was their patient. We especially want to thank Dr. Irene Cybulsky and Dr. Clive Davis for the love they showed not only to Lisa but also to the family. A memorial service celebrating Lisa’s life will be held in Thunder Bay and will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a scholarship in Lisa‘s name called the Lisa Richardson Memorial Scholarship in Classics at Lakehead University.
