Robert Welch University, a new online university, is seeking a qualified instructor of Biblical Hebrew to join its faculty of nearly 20 distinguished Adjunct Professors. The university is proud of its conservative values and its commitment to providing a traditional liberal arts education. RWU's unique and well-rounded Associate's Degree in Liberal Arts places special emphasis upon classical languages and includes a requirement of 3 introductory language courses in Latin, Greek or Hebrew.

The successful candidate will be expected to teach the following undergraduate classes online:

Applicants should hold a PhD. ABDs will be considered only if the applicant has exceptional qualifications and can demonstrate substantial progress toward the completion of the doctorate. The Department of Languages, Literatures, and Cultures of the University of Windsor in conjunction with the Humanities Research Group is organizing its first Classics Undergraduate Conference to be held on Friday, March 10 and Saturday, March 11, 2006. At 4 P.M. on March 10, Dr. Jennifer Sheridan Moss, an Egyptologist, papyrologist, and professor of Classics at Wayne State University, will open the conference with a keynote speech. Throughout the day on March 11, students will present their own original research. This is a rare opportunity for budding scholars, before even attending graduate school, to share their ideas with fellow students, faculty, and the general public without being graded.

Majors in Classical Civilization or related fields are invited to submit abstracts (of 300 words maximum) for a 15 to 20 minute talk on any aspect of ancient Greece or Rome. Please include name and student number as well as a phone number or e-mail address with your submission, which is to be made to Dr. Max Nelson (mnelson@uwindsor.ca). The deadline for the submission of abstracts is January 31, 2006. Notification of acceptance will be given by February 15, 2006.
