1. If you are bringing/renting a car, would you like to receive a free parking permit for the campus?  We will have permits available at registration.

2. Will you be eating lobster or beef at the banquet? (Since this is catered, we need to give information to the caterers.)  In addition, because our numbers need to be rather firm, there won’t be many tickets available for the banquet after your arrival.  If you know you wish to attend, but will be registering upon arrival, it would be helpful if you could let me know your food choice before you get here <jgeyssen@unb.ca> .

The Department of  Classics & Ancient History at the University of New Brunswick in Fredericton invites applications for an eight-month limited term appointment at the rank of Instructor, commencing on 1 September 2003.  The successful candidate will have a PhD (or be near completion) and a strong background and research interest in classical archaeology, will be prepared to teach undergraduate courses in introductory Greek, and have a demonstrated ability to lecture to large Greek and Roman civilization courses.

David Page (Ancient History & Classics, Trent University) is this year's winner of the Symons Teaching Award.  This award was sponsored by and named after the founding president of Trent, Professor T.H.B. Symons, on the occasion of his retirement from the presidency.  David will be presented with the award at Convocation on May 30th. He is the first member of the Classics Department to be so honoured.
