The Department of Humanities at SIMON FRASER UNIVERSITY invites applications for a tenure track appointment (Assistant Professor) in classical civilization and culture, with a preference for someone with a research specialization in Latin literature, language, and civilization.
The Humanities Department is an interdisciplinary department of 15 faculty members who teach a wide variety of courses in the areas of classical, medieval, and modern culture, art, literature, language, religion, and Asian Studies. The Department offers courses in Classical Mythology, introductory Greek and Latin, and upper level courses in the Golden Age of Greece and the Latin Humanist Tradition, most of which applicants should be able to teach.
Preferred qualifications include a completed PhD, publications, and teaching experience. The successful applicant will teach the Department's undergraduate courses in the area of classical civilization and will be expected to develop a strong research programme in her or his area of specialization.
